Our Wilmot Harvest Thrift Store was given this large flag by the Beach City American Legion Post 549 to hang up in honor of reopening our communities due to the pandemic. Post Service Officer Larry Glasgow and Mark Bolitho of Mark Signs donated their time to hang up the flag. Two Fairless 8th grade students, Jessica Glasgow & Leila Gardiner helped with the preparation of the flag as part of their schools random acts of kindness. Assistant manager, Michele Glasgow, was working on this day as the flag was being prepared. She is also the wife of Larry and President of the American Legion Auxiliary 549.
We are proud to announce we are open for business as of May 12th and welcome the return of all our old and new customers. We have added designated shopping hours for our seniors and those who are at risk from 9 to 10 am. All our locations are implementing extra cleaning and sanitizing for your protection, which includes wiping down high touch surfaces frequently throughout the day and thorough sanitizing at the end of the day. All our employees are required to frequently wash their hands. Please practice social distancing and stay 6 feet apart from others while you shop and while checking out. If you are sick, please come again another time. Masks are not required by our customers, but are welcomed. Occupancy levels have been decreased. We are doing our best to keep our employees ad customers, please help us by doing the same for us.
Following the recommendations of health officials all Harvest Thrift Stores are temporarily closed.
While there have been no cases of Covid-19 reported at either of the Harvest Thrift Stores, we believe it is important that we support the social distancing recommended by our health authorities. Our top priority is the safety of our employees, volunteers, and customers.
Follow us on Facebook for information regarding our reopening date. Thank you for your loyal patronage and we hope to see you again soon! We are still accepting donations at our sheds at this time.
Recently the Harvest Thrift Store Board was able to acquire the buildings located next to the Wilmot Store. After much hard work and collaboration, the doors were once again opened to this turn of the century building. The main floor hosted our Christmas Open House event on November 1 and 2. As our holiday inventory moves out, furniture, housewares, crafts, and fabrics will begin to move over from the other store. A new parking lot was added on the west side of the building and several parking spots were added by the front as well. Come out and visit this fantastic building, built in 1865, and discover the treasures we have inside.
